Click-It  – IS the Ticket! The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has undertaken a seatbelt awareness program, entitled “Click It – Or Ticket,” in an effort to save the lives of Connecticut’s residents. Nationally, over 60% of those killed in auto accidents were NOT wearing seat belts. Statistics like this prove the lifesaving value of this program. If you are stopped by Connecticut police and are NOT wearing your seat-belt, you WILL be ticketed.

Working with Donate Life New England, Connecticut Freemasons and their families can also save lives with our own ‘Click-it ’ program. Currently, there are over 1,200 Connecticut residents listed on the national organ transplant waiting list, a list that totals a staggering 102,010 people – waiting for that lifesaving organ donation. Of that figure, 18 critically ill patients died TODAY - still waiting! It is not just about saving lives, where an organ transplant is concerned. The ‘Quality of Life’ for organ transplant patients is, in most cases, greatly improved. It is not uncommon for transplant recipients to express,” I have my life back!” This is especially true in the case of kidney transplants, which comprise 80% of organs transplanted. In many cases, kidney patients undergo dialysis treatments for years prior to their transplants.

How can you help save lives?  The answer is easy, Click-It here to learn about organ and tissue donation at Donate Life New England’s exciting new website. Here you will learn about organ and tissue donation and get answers to your questions about the Registry. Then, we hope you’ll make an informed decision to join the registry, by signing up to become a donor on Donate Life New England’s convenient new online registry.  As part of the new online registry, you will receive two confirmations when you register. One is for you, confirming your generous donation and the other is to give to your loved ones, to inform them of your decision and wishes.
Remember:  “Don’t Take Your Organs to Heaven – Heaven knows we need them here!”
                                  Fraternally,
                                  Richard F. Denno, Chairman
